GRANITE

Available in a wide range of colours and finishes and the most resilient and prevalent of all memorial materials.

The most popular colour being black, light and dark grey are also widely used.

The finish can be highly polished, although honed or eggshell finishes are usually required for churchyard regulations

MARBLE

Often beautifully patterned and of grandeur appearance, marble is actually quite delicate in nature and needs protection against damp. Less of a popular choice today than with previous generations, many churchyards will not permit new marble

memorials due to its bright appearance.

YORKSHIRE STONE

Quarried locally, the finest grain, hardest and most consistent stone is required for memorials in order to produce nicely cut inscriptions and carvings.

Many churchyards will only allow stone memorials in order to blend in aesthetically.
